After the Vows | A Beautiful Backyard Bride
What better way to start the week than sharing a real wedding and talking to a recent Nashville bride about her big day. Jessica and Halden VanCleave had a beautifully planned wedding in Leiper's Fork that y'all will just love. The location of a wedding is so important to each couple and having theirs at such a unique and personal venue fit them perfectly. Jessica chose to use a planner to help her with all the details so she answered some questions for us about her experience!
Number of people at your wedding: Around 275
Wedding Colors: Neutrals(ivory,cream,blush) and eggplant
How long was your planning process: 8 months
What time of year was your wedding: Fall, October 8. Halden and I knew as soon as we got engaged we wanted to get married in October.
Did you use a planner: Yes, Alice Hendry
What vendor went above and beyond for you?
Obviously my wedding planner was amazing. I can't even imagine if I had planned the wedding on my own. Also my cake, by French Confection, was stunning (and delicious.)
Where did you find inspiration for your wedding?
After we picked the venue and my dress, everything else just went off from there. The outdoor venue we chose had so much character and natural beauty on its own we just tried to compliment what was already there.I wanted a natural, rustic feel that was also classy.
Where did you find the vendors for your wedding?
Pretty much every vendor we used was recommended to us by Alice. She does this for a living so I trusted her with picking out the vendors.
Did you have a theme for your wedding?
I didn't really have a theme I was going for. I just wanted a little bit of vintage, rustic, natural, outdoor beauty.
Was there anything that made your wedding unique?
The venue for sure. Since it was a family friend's home, I got to have my wedding in a place no one else could have had theirs. The home and the view out in the country is breathtaking and the weather that day made it perfect.
What was the best part of your wedding?
The reception. The first thing I told Alice when we started planning was that I wanted for everyone to have fun and celebrate with us. Having all my friends and family together, laughing, dancing and of course eating was wonderful.
Do you have any advice for future brides?
Enjoy the planning process and be involved. Also let your future husband have an opinion too. You would be surprised how much they care about the big day as well! And just remember that know matter how the day turns out you are marrying your best friend and that's all that really matters.
