Vendor Spotlight: Karis Floral Design

Happy Wedding Wednesday!! It's been a crazy week with weather in Nashville, so I am glad we are able to share these gorgeous florals from Karis Floral Design, to help brighten up our week. We spoke with the owner Sunny to share with us, some info about her business. How did you get into floral and event design?

I was born into floral design! My grandmother and mother were florist! They both owned shops so I spent many weekends hanging out with my family at the flower shop. I often think of how my mom cut certain flowers while I’m working. After running a foster care and adoption agency for many years, flowers came back into my life. I started interning on nights and weekends, then worked closely with one of my best girlfriends in Austin and finally Karis Floral Design started! Now my heart is full of flowers and adoptions!!!!

Explain your process of working with a bride.

I LOVE to meet in person. I feel like I get a better sense of who the bride is and what her style is, in face to face interaction. After meeting and having a full understanding of her vision I put together a custom quote. The quote gives the full picture of color, flower type and accents. I utilize everything possible to make her dreams come to life; drawings, style boards, unique build outs, trips to the local vintage store and anything else you can think of. I love working with brides that are interested in creating something new and individual!

What is your favorite flower?

I have big love for all flowers! My absolute favorite is lilac. The color, the way it falls and the multiple blooms make my heart sing!! I always love a beautiful peonies, dahlia and ranunculus.

What makes you different from other florist?

There are so many talented florist in Nashville. My only hope is to make dreams comes true for every couple I work with. I believe in being knowledgeable, honest and sincere! I hope that the couples I work with know a little about my heart and love for all things beautiful!
