Vendor Spotlight- Jessica Rai Photography
As we wrap up the week, we are featuring some really amazing images from Jessica Rai Photography. Jessica's photography really captures the love between her couples.
How did you get into photography?
As far back as I can remember my mom always had a camera in her hand, documenting life no matter how big or small the occasion was. When I was 15 my dad passed away unexpectedly and suddenly photographs took on a whole new meaning for me. They were now a gateway to some of my most precious memories and documented life that I could never hit the rewind button on to relive again. Photography became my passion because of how much it meant to me and how much I want to share it with others.
What do you love about photography?
I love photography because I get to capture beautiful once in a lifetime memories for my couples that they will get to share and enjoy for generations. I love seeing someone feel beautiful, excited, emotional and loved behind the lens of my camera. Most of all I LOVE my couples, their stories and how their love for one another is a reflection of an even greater love that has been lavished upon us.
What would you say is your photography style?
My photographic style is authentic, beautiful and memorable. Love is a big deal and telling your story authentically is my goal so that when you look back at your wedding day images it brings a smile to your face because it is just as you remembered it. I focus on you and your emotion that day, your father gushing with pride as he walks you down the isle, your mother welling up with emotion and your groom bursting with excitement as you say I do. These moments are what make your wedding day unique and what drive me as a photographer, to capture memories and not just poses.
Do you shoot digital or film?
I am a digital shooter! I was trained with film and it's always fun to pull out a vintage film camera to mix things up now and then though :)
Tell us why brides should choose you to capture their wedding day?
My brides & grooms are typically down to earth, love to have fun and don't take them selves too seriously! My couples are of course excited about their big day but ultimately care about their marriage as a whole and realize that the wedding day is only the beginning of their journey as husband and wife. My couples throw confetti after their first kiss as man and wife, they aren't afraid of emotion or celebration, they embrace their uniqueness with reckless abandon and it's beautiful. This is your life, it's vibrant and important and you should entrust that to someone who values your story and wants to share it as creatively as you live it. It's my joy to do that.
