How did you get into photography?
I got started in photography by working as a photoshop retoucher. I became so frustrated with the photographers and the mistakes I would have to correct (basic composition, exposure etc.) that I wanted to learn how to get these things right the first time, in camera.
What do you love about photography?
I love that it gives me the opportunity to be creative and artistic. I specifically love wedding photography because you only have one chance to capture the most important day of a couple's life. There is a lot of stress when you realize that how you photograph their wedding will be how it is remembered for generations to come. I love that pressure and it is always pushing me to be a better photographer.
What would you say is your photography style?
The majority of what I shoot during the wedding is from a photojournalist approach. I also like to use dynamic lighting to create eye-catching portraits of the bride and groom. I give my couples basic instruction on posing so that they can be captured in the most flattering way without overexposing them. It is important for me to capture the true spirit and character of my subjects. I love details and feel that it is very important to show them in unique and interesting ways. This blending of styles gives my clients a truly modern and timeless collection of images that represents the story of their wedding day.
Do you shoot digital or film?
Right now all of our weddings are shot 100% digitally and we deliver a mixture of black and white, color and creative edits.
Tell us why brides should choose you to capture their wedding day.
I believe that brides should choose their photographer based on style and personality. In my consultations with brides I am looking to make sure that we can spend 8+ hours together going through the roller coaster of emotions on their wedding day. From a business stand point we strive to offer world class customer service to all of our clients, use only the highest quality prints and products. In addition to wedding coverage we offer engagement, boudoir and bridal sessions as well as photobooths as add-ons to our packages. We also donate to Water.org (as part of our green initiative) and offer a discount to all military families.
