Vendor Spotlight-Monell's at the Manor

Today we are featuring a Nashville classic southern plantation, Monell's at the Manor. We learned about what this beautiful property has to offer for your wedding day from Suzanne Henkle. Tell us about your venue.

Built in 1893, this southern plantation delivers a memorable experience for your special event. Monell's at the Manor is minutes from downtown Nashville, conveniently located near the airport. The estate started out as a mansion for railroad president Colonel E.W. Cole. Rehearsal dinners, bridal luncheons and wedding receptions from 40 guests to 400. The venue can be utilized as an indoor/outdoor space for larger weddings with the addition of a tent to accommodate music and dancing.

What makes your venue different from other venues?

The simple southern food served in such an elegant setting is what sets us apart from other venues.

What is the history of your venue? (How did it get started, etc) Monell's Dining & Catering started in Nashville in 1995. Southern food served family style in a historic setting is our specialty. Monell's at the Manor opened on April 24, 2011.

What are some of your wedding and reception options?

We offer a simple "Morning Memories" package for brides that want a simple brunch type affair. We have a simple "Southern Elegance" package for the brides that want a simple but elegant wedding. We also offer a complete package to include music, wedding cake, photography, limousine, valet parking, spa package, on-site hair and makeup, tuxedo's, designer lighting, floral arrangements, premium linens and china, and upgrade food selections with champagne.

Does your venue require use of your preferred vendors, or are brides free to bring their own?

Monell's must provide the catering. We allow outside vendors for other wedding related services.

In your opinion, which event (or type of event) has most creatively taken advantage of your venue, and what made that event a success?

One of the best events that we have hosted here was a TSU homecoming party. We transformed the outside patio area into a nightclub with use of a huge tent, specialty lighting, lounge furniture and bars. The guests enjoyed VIP treatment all night. The inside of the house reflected the theme of the fraternity that hosted the party. There is alot that you can do at this venue, it's really just a matter of time and budget.
