June Group Meeting
Today I am so excited to share with y'all about our June monthly meeting. It really was such a beneficial experience for all who came. Not only were we able to eat and catch up with all our favorite planners, we were educated on how to be more responsible in our social media skills. The meeting was at Studio Wed, a wedding planning boutique started by NWPG's own Mary Alice and Leigh of A Delightful Day. Right in the heart of Edgehill village, Studio Wed is a place for brides to come and learn about Nashville's best vendors and plan their big day- for free! We used Studio Wed's vendors for our meeting as well so we could see what the studio offered; we were definitely in for a treat!
The night started off with a variety of mini dishes and drinks from Chef's Market. They served strawberry lemonade, mini fried green tomato salads, tomato soup shooters with little grilled cheeses, and other downsized food items that I could not stop eating. The menu and sizes were perfect for our gathering.
Sugar Wagon provided the delicious desserts: mini ice-cream sandwiches made from chocolate chip cookies and maple ice cream. It was so great to hear about their alternatives to dessert table at weddings! Not only do they provide awesome home-made ice cream sandwiches, but pastries and Italian soda as well!
Our invitations for the meeting showcased the very talented work of Hardink Calligraphy.
2 Travel Anywhere presented their unique services to our group as well. Carlie is a honeymoon travel consultant who takes care of all the honeymoon details for the newlyweds. She was very knowledgeable about what she did and ensured her input would make for a very stress-free trip.
We were delighted to experience Oakwood Cleaner's wedding dress preservation. Rhonda brought a dress and demonstrated how they keep it... white gloves and all!
We wrapped up the night with an education presentation by Kristin Kaplan of Simply Stunning Events. She taught our planners about copyright information and tips on how to find out if your website's information is being taken without your permission. A great resource for anyone doing blogs or written information that you want to keep as your own is www.copyscape.com which shows if the information from your site is anywhere else on the web. We learned a lot about this subject and had some interesting discussion about past experiences. Our group hopes to feature more educational segments like this to every monthly meeting!
Kristyn Hogan takes all the credit for these wonderful pictures we got to show from our June meeting. She did a great job getting all aspects of a fun night.
Once one of our monthly meetings comes to an end, it's hard for me to contain my excitement for the next one. What more can you expect when you get the best planners and vendors together for a fun night!?
