Planner Profile: Music City Events

Today we are spotlighting our member Music City Events! This planning company was founded in 2007 and the current owner, Lindsy Read, stepped into her role in 2018.

Before Nashville, my husband and I lived in France for a year. I knew I needed a good camera so I purchased my first digital SLR camera. I practiced a lot during that year in Europe and started my photography business, shooting weddings, when we got back to the States. I spent the next 6 years doing corporate events and, when I moved to Nashville in 2014, married (pun intended) my two loves of weddings and events when I became a contracted wedding planner for Music City Events under the leadership of Sarah Willard. Together, we planned and executed dozens of events. In 2018, Sarah stepped down as founder and owner of Music City Events. This company gave me a love for Nashville and I am so proud to carry on its legacy.
I am a designer at heart. I love to create events that feel unique and represent each client well. I love to focus on your guests’ experience and my hope is that they feel just as a relaxed and happy as my client’s on this big day.
When I’m not working, I enjoy chasing after my 2 boys, road trips to cities near and far, tending to my backyard chickens, training for marathons and online shopping.

Do you have a signature aesthetic?

Since I got married so young, I was a pretty “safe” and traditional bride but as I’ve aged and grown, I like to have a little bit of fun. I love a classic wedding with some pops of unexpected color and mid-century modern vibes.

What are the first steps you take with new clients?

I ask them what their top 3 most important things are for their event. Is it really good food? A meaningful guest experience? A killer band? Knowing the answers to this question helps me prioritize your budget and plan the event of your dreams!
