Kelsey Gray Events is a full service wedding planner and floral designer serving Middle Tennessee. Kelsey specializes in destination weddings with couples planning events in Nashville. She loves colorful weddings with lots of florals, and her floral design focuses on sustainability whenever possible.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

I love design! It's so much fun to put together a design and watch it come together on the wedding day. Part of that design process includes the wedding flowers. Flowers just make me happy.

Who is your ideal client?

My ideal client is a woman in her late 20s through 30s who knows what she wants out of life and her wedding! She is busy and doesn't know where to start with wedding planning. She lives outside of TN and travels a lot, and she loves the idea of bringing all of her friends and family into a central location for a Nashville destination wedding. For her wedding she wants color and a gorgeous design. She wants a wedding planner that will be like a friend, but will also make her life easier. She will hire me to do planning, design, and flowers because she trusts me and knows that this is what I do best!

How do you stay up to date in the wedding industry?

I have a weakness for education. I will sign up for floral design retreats and online courses until my bank account runs dry. So I limit myself to one wedding conference per year, and I rotate between learning new skills in wedding planning, floral design, and business improvement. I love it all!

What is one of the biggest or most important lessons you've learned since becoming an entrepreneur?

Live your life and run your business in the way that works best for you. There are a lot of entrepreneurial gurus out there trying to promote their best and only way to run your business. But business isn't one size fits all. Once I let go of the rules, that's when I really started to thrive.
