On March 12, 2022, we celebrated my sister-in-law and her husband in Charleston, SC, at the Magnolia Plantation & Gardens. It was a beautiful, but cold, wedding day with mostly family and close friends.

We had only toured venues 3 months prior when we took a weekend to explore Charleston and I had set up several tours for us both in downtown Charleston and the surrounding areas. We toured the following:

Legare Waring House
Cannon Green
Upstairs at Midtown
Magnolia Plantation
We didn’t have official tours but we also checked out some local parks since our guest count was under 25

Magnolia had multiple venues on site to choose from including the gorgeous oak tree to hold the ceremony under. The tree sold us even with an alligator walking underneath it while we were there! The property is open to the public for tours and such during the day so I highly recommend checking it out when you are visiting Charleston, SC.

Once we secured Magnolia, we were off to the races coming up with our design and securing our vendors considering we only had 3 months to get the details locked in. Thankfully, March is not peak season in Charleston, so we were able to find some amazing vendors to execute our design and vision!

Coordinator: Considering I am the sister-in-law, I wanted to be able to enjoy the wedding day, so we hired Lauren with ELM Events for “day of” execution.

Photo & Video were the bride’s top priority so we secured those first. Considering we only have to provide food and alcohol for 25 guests, we had more budget to bring in items like draping and a chandelier and some lounge furniture. We also had the budget to make our floral exactly what we wanted!

All this to say, don’t be scared to hold your wedding in a city or country you’ve never been and don’t be scared to plan it in 3 months. When you hire a professional, we know what we are doing and know how to work efficiently to execute your dream! So hire us first and we will take care of the rest!
